On Friday 7 Feb two of our trustees (Christine and Derek) attended the birthday party for Forever Manchester. It is their annual fund-raising event sponsored by many Manchester businesses and was held at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester. Forever Manchester raises money that they then distribute to small charities and community groups around Greater Manchester. On the night over £100,000 was raised. RADAR was short-listed for an award in the "For Everyone" category. We didn't win the award, but it was an honour just to be short-listed.

We are pleased to announce that RADAR has just been awarded a grant of £4900 by Action Together from the Rochdale Communities Fund - Refugee and Asylum Seeker Resettlement Support Fund. The grant is to help fund our weekly cash allowance to the destitue asylum seekers that we are housing and help with administration costs and expenses.
On Tuesday February 13th RADAR members and some of the asylum seekers we support joined in a national event organised by Together with Refugees to promote its campaign “Fair Begins Here”. This seeks to get a fairer, more compassionate and more effective deal for those who come to the UK seeking sanctuary from war, oppression and violence.
Along with many other organisations across the country we got together to make orange hearts with messages of support for refugees. These were displayed at local churches on February 14th which, as we all know, is Valentine’s Day, a day we all associate with love.
Since Tuesday 13th was also Shrove Tuesday we also celebrated by making pancakes. Here are a few photos of the event and the displays.
